Institute of Information Technologies

Institute for Professional Development and Retraining of Top Managers and Specialists in Information Technologies and Radioelectronics (Institute of Information Technologies, IIT) was established in 2001 on the basis of the Faculty for Staff Development and Retraining. Two faculties of the Institute offer state-of-the-art training and research facilities, including those located at the University. Practical classes are organised in special computer laboratories united into one University local network and connected to the Internet.

IIT offers programmes of the following types:

-  First degree programmes for the graduates of vocational education (shortened programmes based on curriculum integrated with vocational programmes)

-  Retraining of professionals with higher education

-  Professional development of top managers and professionals in the field of IT and radioelectronics

-  Training of blue-collar personnel

The Faculty of Computer Technologies offers first degree programmes for the graduates of vocational education. The programmes are based on curriculum integrated with Belarusian vocational educational institutions officially cooperating with BSUIR. Owing to the possibility of credit transfer the training period can be shortened (up to 3,5–4 years for part-time training) and the tuition fees can be significantly reduced.

The Faculty provides short-term and long-term programmes for staff upgrading and retraining in IT and electronics. Depending on the duration and type of the course taken graduates receive a Certificate or a Diploma in the chosen programme that entitles them to carry out an occupational activity.

Staff retraining

Retraining programmes last 1,5–2 years (part-time training) and are offered both in Russian and English. Upon completing the study and defending the graduation thesis, graduates obtain a qualification in Engineering and a Diploma.

-  Electronic business;

-  Software testing;

-  Protection of personal information.

Professional development

Faculty offers over 100 courses for professional development in the field of information technologies and radioelectronics. Training programmes are compliant with today’s needs and potential of labour market. Graduates are awarded an official Certificate of Training.
