Information for International Students



Minsk is the capital of the Republic of Belarus, a country in the very centre of Europe. Belarus borders on Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia and Ukraine. Belarus is a country of rich cultural heritage and beautiful landscapes.

Minsk, being the capital of the Republic of Belarus, is a 940-old city with about 2 mln inhabitants. It is a major cultural, scientific and industrial centre of Belarus.

Belarus is well-known for its architectural places of interest, national parks and nature reserves. The Belarusian nation is appreciated for a high level of education, tolerance and good relation towards foreigners and different religions.



BSUIR is a multinational university which provides attractive and competitive educational services. Our 300 international undergradute and postgraduate students come from as many as 29 countries, including: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Vietnam, Venezuela, Georgia, Yemen, Jordan, Italy, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, People's Democratic Republic of Korea, Latvia, Libya, Lithuania, Lebanon, Moldova, Nigeria, Russia, Syria, Sudan, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Sri Lanka.

BSUIR is actively promoting co-operation with foreign institutions involved in staff training.

As a part of its export-building policy, BSUIR is enhancing its role in postgradute training. The University boasts excellent facilities for training of international postgradute students under master and PhD programmes. Today international students come up to over 20% of all BSUIR full-time postgraduate students.

International students are actively taking part in University activities, such as sporting events, feasts, contests, National Cultural events.
