The University Library
The University Library provides information for educational and scientific work. The Library funds are used by more than 13 thousand readers, who have all necessary working conditions. The Library has about one million items in its funds, which include dissertations, scientific and research work reports, scientific conferences materials, encyclopedias and reference books. Collections of works of the University lectures and bibliographical indexes are also of high value.
Our library offers BSUIR local network with Intranet and Internet access, 7 students specialized reading rooms for 400 students, 39 libraries at departments, 3 delivery desks.
The University Library is the synthesis of traditional forms of libraries and modern technologies. Main library processes are automated on the basis of MARC-SQL Automated Information Library System.
The Library has a rich fund of national and foreign materials in informatics and radioelectronics, technical and natural sciences, humanities and social sciences, economics, vocabularies and languages, fiction, periodicals, digital resources, digital educational-methodical complexes of subjects.
The Digital Library for 24 places was opened in 2004. It provides BSUIR students and employees with the latest scientific and educational information. Every day about 300 students visit the Digital Library. It provides free access to digital informational resources of traditional library: digital catalogue, digital educational-methodical subject complexes, distance learning guidelines, full-text databases of educational and tutorial guidelines, analytical catalogue of periodicals, electronic issues (books, abstract publications), BSUIR databases. The University Library has full-text bases "Standards", "Etalon", Electronic Journals Service "Blackwell", "EBSCO" with full-text versions of science journals, and access to other databases in libraries of Belarus and Russia.
Combination of printed and digital funds allows us to satisfy all educational and scientific needs of the University, to promote the quality of training, and to improve the higher education quality.
