The Faculty prepares specialists in 6 specialities:
- Multichannel Telecommunication Systems
- Systems of Multimedia Information Distribution
- Systems of Wireless Communication, Broadcasting and Television
- Metrological Assurance of Information Systems and Networks
- Protection of Information in Telecommunication Networks
- Telecommunication Networks.

The Faculty of Telecommunication was established in 1980. Today it is an educational and scientific centre, 117 lecturers among them are the Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Science of Belarus, 14 Professors, and 64 Doctors organize the educational and scientific work in six departments of the Faculty in the spheres of communication systems and devices, metrology and standardizing, fiber-optic systems.

In view of enormously increasing volumes and various kinds of transmitted information, telecommunication is an actual, fast-growing and perspective direction as is based on the basis of modern electronics and informatics, electronic and information technologies.

While trained at our Faculty students learn comprehensively and deeply at the mathematical and physical level new telecommunication technologies, all kinds of systems and communication networks.

Knowledge in the field of professional activity, skills of development and introduction of new technologies in communication make our graduates competitive in market conditions of production and allow them to adapt faster for new scientific and technical tasks in the development of communication and IT-technologies.

Students can pursue their education in telecommunications specialities at Master Courses and PhD Courses, and to carry out scientific researches in specialized laboratories where they familiarize the modern methods of digital systems designing of various kinds of information transfer on cable, satellite communication lines, electronic and quasi-electronic commutation systems using operating computers of information protection in telecommunication systems.

Graduates of the Faculty are successfully working at the enterprises in all areas of telecommunication and knowledge-intensive technologies.
