Education in university

At present, the University offers training in 28 specialities and 44 specializations in the field of computer facilities; informatics; radioengineering; radioinformatics and radioelectronic systems; micro- and nano- electronic technologies and systems; telecommunication; systems of wireless communication, broadcasting and television; automated information processing computer systems; artificial intelligence; information technologies and control in technical systems; metrology, standardization and certification; electronic and optic engineering; technical ensuring of security; medical electronics; radioelectronic devices; information systems and technologies in economics; marketing; economics and organization of production.

Over 10 thousand students from Belarus and from abroad study at 9 faculties and 34 departments as full-time, distance, correspondence or evening students. The education process and scientific researches are conducted by highly competent teaching staff, among them there are academicians and correspondent members of the National Academy of Science of Belarus, academicians of subject academies, full members of New-York Academy of Science, 60 professors, and 300 senior lecturers. Many professors and scientists of the University are invited to read lectures in leading universities of Canada, USA, Germany, Portugal, Spain, China, Poland, United Kingdom, France etc.

The University campus includes six buildings with up-to-date teaching facilities supplied with modern computer and laboratory equipment. A number of computer classes of the University has been equipped with modern computers owing to the support of world companies, such as Philips, Intel, IBM and their Belarusian partners. In terms of contracts with a number of industrial enterprises the education is conducted on operational industrial equipment.

Teaching facilities available in the six uildings of the University involve up-to-date computer and laboratory equipment. Due to financial support of well-known companies, such as PHILIPS, INTEL, IBM and their Belarusian partners, several computer centers of the University were provided the latest computer afacilities. BSUIR fulfils contracts on implementation of innovative teaching techniques with several universities of different countries: Moscow State University of Electronics and Mathematics, distant education; Wuppertal University (Germany), exchange programs for scientists, lectors, students; Warsaw Technological University, developing and implementation of computer-aided teaching systems in microelectronics and other studies.
Training scientists of the highest qualification is conducted on graduate and doctorate courses in 22 specialities. Over 30 graduates of other universities of Belarus and outside the country are admitted to the graduate courses every year. There are three Interdepartmental Specialized Scientific Councils for Presenting Theses for Doctor's and Candidate's degree. Advanced and Conversion Occupation Training Faculty was established for engineers to specialize in top-priority areas. Scientific researches in the University conform to the area of specialization of the specialists and to major tendencies of scientific-research as well as socialeconomic development of the Republic of Belarus.
